Checkmate, mate

This game of thrones is one part chess, one part poker and it takes place between 1984 and 2036, stretching from Melbourne, Australia, to the new Area 52 in Kingsbury, Nevada. Jack Chaucer’s new poli-sci-fi thriller “Queens are Wild” will be e-published later this summer. More teasers to follow at queensarewild.wordpress.com.

Corporate pirate, homegrown terrorist or both?

Australian oil, shipping and media magnate Robert Ballentine, a graduate of the University of Texas-Austin who goes by the nickname “Balls,” will attempt a hostile takeover of America in the wee hours of New Year’s Day, 2036. China, North Korea and numerous Benedict Arnolds will assist. Margeaux Quigley, America’s first female president — elected in 2032 and up for re-election in the fall of 2036 — will be shot in the leg, kidnapped and held captive by Ballentine aboard one of his many floating headquarters during the transition of power. Ballentine vows to kill the president if he is faced with any major counterattacks. Ballentine’s ambition is to be King of the new United Kingdom of America.
