I hate the way The Bridge shuffles the deck like we’re a bunch of playing cards. I also hate the way they switch out who’s dealing. It used to be Virgil trying to control me and Adam and Bill. Then it was David. Then it was Peter, who also flipped the Thomas card over on the table just to screw with me.
Now it’s Willem’s turn as dealer, with an assist from Ina and the cold, isolating bitch that is Antarctica.

“Speaking of beer cans, she’s pretty wasted,” Thomas pointed out.

Flags fly at the ceremonial South Pole in front of the Elevated Station in honor of the 12 original signatory nations of the Antarctic Treaty. The flags are set in a semicircle and are spaced about 1.5 meters (5 feet) apart. The US flag is directly flanked by the Norwegian (grid east) and British (grid west) flags in honor of Amundsen and Scott. The remainder of the flags are represented in the order of their signing the Antarctic Treaty. The nations represented include: Argentina, Australia, Chile, Russia, New Zealand, Norway, USA, UK, France, Japan, Belgium, and South Africa. (February 2008)

“Nikki White: Frozen Upside Down”

That’s my working title as I prepare to take all these ideas in my head and begin charting the course for the third book in the series, which likely will span four books and could end up as a “Nikki: Red, White and Blue” omnibus edition when all is said and done.

I’ll have Damon Za do a whole new cover scheme for Nikki White, so that should be an interesting process.
